We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance this role you will be responsible for diagnosing repairing and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction industrial and farm machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operating smoothly minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including excavators cranes forklifts tractors and other heavy machinery utilizing your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to deliver top-tier service.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment using electrical mechanical hydraulic and schematics analysis tools.
Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators cranes bulldozers and loaders.
Service and repair diesel engines transmissions air brakes suspensions hydraulics and HVAC systems on various equipment.
Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
Troubleshoot electrical systems including wiring harnesses sensors switches and control modules with automotive diagnostics techniques.
Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed; complete inspection reports and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Assist in equipment assembly installation calibration (including alignment) and testing to ensure operational readiness.

Proven experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician in a dealership or industrial setting.
Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance and repair processes.
Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and schematics for accurate diagnostics and repairs.
Proficiency in electrical diagnostics diesel engine repair brake repair tire service welding and hydraulic systems.
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely during troubleshooting or testing phases.
Skilled in the use of hand tools power tools welding equipment and diagnostic software.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics air brake systems HVAC systems or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.
