ENERGY SPECIALIST

Ag View FS, Inc. | Princeton, Illinois

$50,000 - $60,000

POSITION SUMMARY

Ag View FS is hiring an Energy Specialist who wants to learn the energy business from the ground up and grow with us. You will learn all aspects of our business: diesel fuel, lubricants, propane, customer service, tank storage equipment and regulations, and how to work as part of a strong team.

This is a learn-and-grow position, not a single-task job. We will train you in our way of doing business and give you room to take on more as you grow. For the right person, additional opportunities in the FS System are endless.

No experience required. You don’t need a background in energy or sales. What we need is someone who is driven, curious, and eager to learn. We’ll teach you the energy business, from tanks and equipment to Dieselex Gold, Suprex Gold ESP, and FS Propane. You’ll learn alongside experienced teammates who want to see you succeed. If you’re willing to work hard, take coaching, and grow with an already successful team, we’ll give you the training and the opportunity to build a rewarding career.

ABOUT AG VIEW FS

Ag View FS, Inc. is a farmer/member owned agricultural cooperative headquartered in Princeton, Illinois, and part of the GROWMARK/FS system. We supply energy, including diesel, DEF, lubricants, and propane, to farms and businesses across northern Illinois. Our people, our service, and our local ownership set us apart, and we invest in growing talent from within.

Our energy business is growing, and so is our team. We have seen strong growth in diesel, DEF, and lubricant volume, and we are earning new customers through service, product quality, and the people who stand behind them. When you join Ag View FS, you are joining a successful team with real momentum and room for people to make their mark.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AND LEARN

You will spend your first year learning the energy business by doing it, working alongside experienced team members. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Learning fuel and lubricant storage and dispensing equipment, including tanks, pumps, meters, hoses, and proper regulations
  • Setting up, preparing, and delivering tanks to customer sites, and learning proper installation, placement, and safe-handling practices
  • Assisting with product deliveries and learning bulk plant operations
  • Providing great customer service: meeting customers on site, listening to their needs, and following up after delivery
  • Keeping accurate records, paperwork, and tank documentation
  • Following all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Working side by side with drivers, sales, and plant staff, and sharing ideas that help the team and our customers

PRODUCTS AND PROGRAMS YOU WILL LEARN

You will become knowledgeable in the products that set us apart and learn how to explain why they matter to customers:

  • Dieselex Gold diesel fuel: what is in it, how it protects engines, and how it performs
  • Suprex Gold ESP lubricants: the product line, applications, and advantages
  • Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) , propane, and other energy products
  • Tank equipment : the options we offer and how each fits a customer’s needs
  • The wider GROWMARK/FS product lineup and how it supports our members

Training will be hands-on and ongoing, with support from our team and from GROWMARK/FS product resources.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We care more about attitude and drive than a specific background. If you are motivated, coachable, and eager to build a career, we want to meet you.

You are a great fit if you:

  • Are ambitious and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow
  • Learn quickly and welcome coaching and feedback
  • Are comfortable working with your hands and outdoors, in all seasons
  • Communicate well, work well with a team, and enjoy building relationships with customers
  • Take ownership, show up on time, and follow through
  • Care about safety and doing the job right

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment screening
  • Willingness to obtain a CDL, hazmat endorsement, or other training as needed (company-supported)

Helpful, but not required:

  • Experience in agriculture, equipment, mechanics, trades, construction, or customer service
  • Basic computer skills

ROOM TO GROW

This role is built for people who want to learn and grow. As you build skills and show results, additional opportunities may open up. They depend on your performance, your attitude, and the needs of the business

  • Build a strong foundation in diesel fuel, lubricants, fixed forward contracting, tank equipment, and customer service
  • Become a trusted, reliable teammate that customers and coworkers count on
  • Take on more responsibility as your knowledge and results grow
  • For the right person, explore opportunities in energy sales or other roles as they become available

WORKING CONDITIONS, PAY AND HOW TO APPLY

Working conditions: This is a hands-on, physical role. You will work outdoors in all weather, lift and move equipment, climb in and out of trucks, and drive between locations. Hours may be extended during peak seasons such as harvest.
