A well-established immigration law firm in the Dallas Fort Worth area is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney with at least 5 years of substantive USCIS experience to join its growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling both family-based and humanitarian immigration matters and be comfortable independently managing a USCIS caseload.

The successful candidate will provide strategic legal guidance, prepare and review immigration filings, communicate directly with clients, and manage cases from initial consultation through resolution. This role requires sound legal judgment, strong case preparation skills, reliable deadline management, and excellent client communication.

The position is initially intended to be in person in the DFW area, with the potential for a hybrid arrangement after the initial period. Fully remote work may also be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a diverse USCIS caseload involving family-based and humanitarian immigration matters.
  • Handle cases from initial consultation and strategy through filing, USCIS correspondence, and final resolution.
  • Prepare and review petitions, applications, legal briefs, motions, declarations, supporting documentation, and other immigration filings.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze applicable immigration laws, regulations, policies, and USCIS procedures.
  • Prepare responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other USCIS requests or notices.
  • Advise clients regarding case strategy, eligibility requirements, risks, timelines, and available immigration options.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure all filings and deadlines are handled promptly and thoroughly.
  • Identify potential legal or procedural issues and develop practical solutions to address them.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, required documentation, next steps, and potential issues.
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals and other legal professionals to ensure efficient case management.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service.
  • Stay current on changes to USCIS policies, procedures, and immigration law.

Required Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the United States.
  • Minimum 5 years of substantive USCIS experience.
  • Demonstrated experience handling both family-based and humanitarian immigration matters.
  • Ability to independently manage a USCIS caseload from intake through resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of USCIS procedures, immigration laws, and applicable regulations.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and case preparation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and reliable deadline management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong client counseling and relationship management abilities.
  • Sound legal judgment, attention to detail, and ability to identify and resolve complex case issues.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Why Join Us:

  • Focus on a procedure-forward practice with a consistent volume of acute injury cases.
  • Take ownership of substantive immigration matters and manage cases from beginning to end.
  • Work on a diverse range of family-based and humanitarian immigration cases.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients through meaningful legal guidance and direct communication.
  • Join a collaborative legal team that values sound judgment, quality case preparation, and client service.
  • Gain continued exposure to complex USCIS matters and evolving areas of immigration law.
  • Enjoy the potential for a hybrid work arrangement after the initial in-person period.
  • Remote work may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Build a long-term career with opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibility.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.
  • Initial in-person work arrangement in the Dallas Fort Worth area, with potential for hybrid flexibility.
  • Fully remote arrangement may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Professional development and opportunities for increased responsibility.
